Langkawi Island is located in Kedah, Malaysia. Langkawi build by a group of 99 Tropical Islands lying off the north-western coast of Peninsular Malaysia, about 30 km from Kuala Perlis and 51 km from Kuala Kedah on the mainland. This Island can be access by ferry and flight. In Langkawi Island are popular with an interesting heritage of wonderful legends of ogres and giant birds, warriors and fairy princesses, battles and romance. Langkawi Island is the most legendary and interesting island compares to others islands in Asia.

In Langkawi Island there are many caves such as Gua Kelawar, Gua Dangli, Gua Buaya, Gua Pasir Dagang, Gua Cerita and Gua Balai. Gua Kelawar is the one of interesting cave in this island. This cave named take from its inhabitants, the Malaysia Bats. Gua Kelawar located along the Kilim River. The transportation to go to this cave by only by boat, then visitor can walk along a wooden platform that leading directly to the cave. Legend Garden was build based on ideas from former Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad. It was open on 27th April 1996 after 2 years construction. The Garden build by intention to expose tourist about the maythical and legendary heritage which is the core of Langkawi’s attraction. The Garden area is 50 acres costly RM 37 million with wonderful landscaped such as 4 lakes, a lagoon and beach. It located 4oo metres from Kuah Jetty beside the CHOGM Park and Al-Hana Mosque. The legendry heritage is the attraction to tourist to visit Langkawi. In the Legend Garden there are few place that can be visit such as the Mountains of Gondwana, The Rise of Langkawi that legendary story about Mahsuri.

Eagle Square located in Jetty Kuah, Langkawi. This eagle is a symbol of Langkawi. There is old story that the meaning of Langkawi is from Helang or Lang meaning the bird or eagle and Batu Kawi meaning brown stone.
